I voted against the 1% sales tax increase

We can do better. I voted against and stand firmly against raising our sales tax without a clear and transparent plan. For 16 years I’ve made fiscal responsibility my focus and will continue to do so if you re-elect me to First District. Balanced budgets matter.

I’ve called Goleta home since 1983

For nearly 40 years, I’ve been your neighbor. Goleta where my wife and I raised our son - a place that is special for so many reasons.

After 32 years in law enforcement, I was first elected to Goleta City Council in 2006. Since then I’ve served on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Plan Committee, Economic Development and Revitalization Standing Committee, Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Standing Committee, among others.

I’m proud of my history of involvement in the non-profit community, as a board member of Old Spanish Days Fiesta, Pacific Pride Foundation, Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation, Santa Barbara Scholarship Foundation, Santa Barbara Elks Lodge, and my recent election as Board President of the United Boys and Girls Club of Santa Barbara County.

As I humbly ask for your support once more for re-election to Goleta City Council First District - these are my top issues and priorities >>

Keeping Goleta safe

Goleta has long track record of being a safe and welcoming city. It’s important that continues and that we plan for a changing environment and prolonged droughts. The latter makes it imperative that we finally build and complete Fire Station 10 in Western Goleta.

Supporting our local businesses

I’m always willing to listen to our local business owners questions and concerns. Goleta has always been a great place to start a business and it’s important to ensure that entrepreneurial spirit remains strong and vibrant.

Improving & enhancing the City of Goleta

It’s important to prioritize city-wide projects that will have provide great benefits to locals and those visiting the area. Renovating the Goleta Valley Community Center and building the new train depot are at the top of that list.

Fixing our aging roads & sidewalks

Drive around town and it’s easy to notice the bumpy ride that comes from Goleta’s streets. While there have been some improvements, namely Cathedral Oaks (left), it remains the first issue that I hear on a daily basis.

Improve our parks and open spaces.

While we as a City Council have made strides in improving our parks and open spaces, Goleta is ready for a significant investment in enhancing and improving each and every space for future generations and ever-evolving city.
